Re: Off peak tickets for today valid on all trains tomorrow? Posted by ChrisB at 21:41, 25th November 2024 |
There was an observation in another thread that GWR had issued a "Black" alert meaning no trains running, but somehow doesn't raise anything on Journeycheck or website ( ), now downgraded to a "Red" alert which does apparently.

Probably meant to apply mostly to Advance tickets or at least those already bought, but seems like sloppy wording. If your trains aren't running you'd be entitled to a full refund anyway. While looking at how the TOCs were phrasing it I was surprised how little prominence GWR's website gives the disruption (I'd expected a banner across the home page) and despite the chaos the National Rail Twitter/X people still couldn't resist popping in a promo for Railcards, and a "Happy Monday" GIF.

Off peak tickets for today valid on all trains tomorrow? Posted by grahame at 14:59, 25th November 2024 |
Does that mean that info was planning a trip to London for tomorrow I should buy a super off peak for this afternoon to save me money on the busiest trains?
Tickets for today will be accepted on Tuesday 26 November, including on peak services.
